Sunday accidents send eight people to hospital
The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) and the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office responded to two separate injury accidents on Sunday, Feb. 16.
According to the accident reports from the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office, the first accident occurred at 9 a.m. on River Road about 660 feet east of County Road 6700.
Sheila Armagost of Hebron was east bound on River Road when she lost control of the vehicle and over corrected which then caused the vehicle to enter the south ditch. When it entered the ditch, the vehicle rolled onto its top.
Sheila and her three passengers, William, Brittany and James Armagost, were all transported by HVFD to Thayer County Health Services for their injuries. Their 2005 Ford was totaled in the accident.
In the evening, another accident occurred in Hebron at the intersection of 13th Street and Dove Road.
Joshua Kennedy of Concordia, Kan., was west bound on Dove Road around 6 p.m. He failed to yield to Marian Haase of Omaha who was north bound on 13th Street. Haase’s vehicle struck Kennedy’s at an estimated speed of 35-40 mph.
HVFD transported Kennedy and his two passengers along with Haase to Thayer County Health Services for injuries sustained during the accident.
