TRAN rallies for American Legion OCW program
Tractors to parade through Hebron, display at Roosevelt Park.
The Nebraska Antique Farming Association is raising funds for The American Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors (OCW) program this year during its annual Tractor Relay Across Nebraska.
Overall, about 125 antique tractors will participate in the rally which begins May 31 in Nebraska City. Each day dozens of tractors will venture from one city to another, averaging about 30 to 40 miles daily. At least a dozen tractors are scheduled to make the entire trip, which concludes June 8 in Haigler.
The group is expecting to arrive in Hebron in the afternoon and will be escorted by HVFD firetrucks from the Highway 136 and First Street corner to Roosevelt Park via the medical campus. A parade of tractors will take place on Lincoln Ave., beginning at approximately 5 p.m. Spectators may watch the parade from First St. and Lincoln Ave., through Fifth St. and Lincoln Ave.
Following the parade, the group will display its tractors at Roosevelt Park. The HVFD will also be serving a dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. From 5:30-7:30 p.m., entertainment provided by Ken Hoge and Friends, Tina Reed, Howard Mills, and Tiffany Walsh will take place.
