Voss plans for new position

Jeremy Voss, the director for Thayer County Economic Development Alliance has accepted a position in Des Moines, Iowa, with Dallas County Economic Development.
Voss said he and his wife are expecting twins and in Des Moines, they will live closer to his parents as the twins will be the first grandchildren in the family.
Voss said the Alliance is hoping to have someone by the first week of June. His contract officially expires June 15.
Voss said the person who fills his position will need to be self-motivated because they often work alone.
The new director needs to be flexible and have the ability to work creatively on issues.
“They should be personable. We can’t just sit at a desk. Every day of this job is different than the one before,” Voss said.
The Alliance is a non-profit organization.
“The communities in Thayer County and our organization are doing great things. We hope someone can come in and really make changes to keep this momentum going,” Voss, who has been with the organization for nearly four years, said.
