Eagles end season in playoffs
The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles football team couldn’t get around No. 1 seeded Bancroft-Rosalie’s offensive pressure Wednesday night in the second round of the D1 state playoffs. The Panthers undid the Eagles, 60-8 and will face Friend Tuesday, Nov. 9 in the quarterfinal game.
BDS ends its first season as the Eagles on a 6-4 record. In the contest Wednesday night, the Eagles were held to 119 total yards. Jose Gamboa collected a safety in the first period and Ryan Tegtmeier connected with Karson Novacek for 40 yards and a touchdown in the final quarter.
The BDS Eagles lose seven seniors to graduation including: Conrad Sell, Derek Swartzendruber, William Mick, Tyler Lauenstein, Jose Gamboa, Tanner Ahrens, and Jeremy Row.
