Blaze destroys rural Belvidere home
Four volunteer fire departments were dispatched to a rural Belvidere home Tuesday morning at 10:21 a.m., where they found the structure completely engulfed in flames. Departments from Belvidere and Hebron were sent right away; Carleton and Bruning were called in a few minutes later for mutual aid. The call was made from a passing train. The house, located on Road V between roads 6100 and 6000, was completely destroyed. No one was home at the time of the incident. There were no injuries. Thayer County Sheriff David Lee was still investigating the blaze Tuesday afternoon as was the state fire marshal. Names of the owner of the structure or information on how the fire was started were not released as of Tuesday afternoon.
