Eagles soar into semifinals
The BDS Eagles (10-1) will face undefeated Exeter-Milligan (11-0) Monday night, Nov. 12, in the D1 semifinals of the state football playoffs after downing powerhouse Howells-Dodge Tuesday night, 25-18. The teams will face off on the Bruning grid at 6:30 p.m.
In the quarterfinal game, Eagles quarterback Ryan Tegtmeier turned a 36-yard field goal and a 22-yard touchdown pass in the final minutes of the game into BDS’s tenth win of the season.
The Eagles trailed at the half, 6-8, but a 1-yard keeper by the senior in the third quarter boosted the Eagles to a lead Howells-Dodge never erased. BDS’s first score came in the opening minutes when Luke Christensen found the endzone on a 15-yard run.
