Sixth Grade Class Honors Local Veteran

Deb Vorderstrasse’s sixth grade class of Thayer Central awarded a quilt they made to local World War II veteran Lloyd Farnstrom, Hebron, on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

The class began working on the quilt  the first week in October.

Thayer County Extension Office staff, Kaye Mussman and Brenda Kerns, came to the class and directed the students in making the quilt as a part of their School 4-H Enrichment Projects.

The class made a second quilt to send away to a veteran returning from overseas.
