2014-2015 Leading Locally Class Graduates

“I have learned so much valuable information through the Leading Locally Class and intend to stay involved in local leadership.” “Through Leading Locally, I learned a lot about Thayer County businesses and the amazing people who started them.” These are just a couple of comments by 2015 Leading Locally in Thayer County graduates who received Certificates of Accomplishment during the recent ceremony held at Billy’s Restaurant in Lincoln.

The afternoon graduation celebration was held after visiting the Capitol and meeting Governor Ricketts and Senator Laura Ebke. The morning was spent observing the Legislature from the gallery and touring the Capitol. A catered lunch for the 65+ Leading Locally classes from Burt, Merrick, Thayer and Wayne Counties was served while Senators from those districts talked to their constituents. During the afternoon class members had an opportunity to visit public hearings.

Thayer County Leading Locally graduates include Jacie Milius – Nebraska Extension Educator in Clay, Nuckolls & Thayer Counties; Amanda Push News Director at Hebron Journal-Register; Heather Ramsey, grain marketer and risk manager; Adam Tipton – agriculture producer near Chester; and Rebecca Stengel and Kara Wenske from Midwest Bank in Deshler. Leading Locally in Thayer County will begin the 2015-2016 class in September.
