Feeders to hold 49th annual banquet

The Thayer County Livestock Feeders Association will hold its annual banquet and dance this week at the fairgrounds activity center in Deshler. A meal, awards, dance and entertainment are on tap as the organization takes a look at what was accomplished in 2012.

During the annual meeting, new officers will be installed including new president Tim Koch of Daykin.

The annual meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. with a prime rib meal, will feature cowboy poet Ron Wilson. Wilson performs all original poetry in full costume, complete with audience participation. Says the ‘poet lariat,’ “The poetry is fun, family-oriented, patriotic, relates extremely well with rural audiences, and most of the time, it even rhymes.”
