Emergency manager preparing for flooding

The Deshler ballfields are underwater and the water looks to be receding, Thayer County Emergency Manager Colt Farringer said.

“The only thing we’re worrying about right now is the Little Blue coming through Hebron. We are preparing for flooding on Highway 81,” Farringer said.

Highway 5 was closed last night around 8 p.m. Water is creeping over the road on 4th Street in Hebron.

Highway 136 has remained open. Farringer said it was a rumor the highway was closed west of Deshler. There was water over the road near 5100 south of Highway 136.
