Accident Injures Hebron Man
Chad Priefert, 32, of Hebron was hurt Saturday night after failing to negotiate an s-curve on Road P and crashing into a grove of trees one mile west and three miles north of Gilead. According to an accident report at the Sheriff’s Office, the impact was severe enough to dislodge the engine in the 2010 PT Cruiser and lay it on the ground next to the passenger side door. Priefert, who suffered a broken disc in his neck, other facial bones and one of his wrists, said he walked six miles to a farm house for help. While he said he started walking when it was still light outside, the 911 call was not received at the local dispatch office until 2:40 a.m., Aug. 24. Hebron Rescue transported Priefert to Thayer County Health Services where he was life-flighted to Lincoln.
