Amanda Push Joins Journal-Register as News Director
I was born and raised in Omaha, the second oldest of a large family.
It’s been awhile since I’ve lived in a small town but I’m not entirely new to the experience. My first two years of college I lived in a rural community in Indiana. My junior year I transferred to the University of Nebraska at Omaha where I graduated with a journalism degree last spring.
It wasn’t until I was a senior, however, that I chose journalism. By that point I had tried five other majors including education, international studies, english, media studies and professional writing. I chose journalism because I enjoy meeting new people, learning and, most of all, writing.
I also enjoy traveling. I have visited almost all 50 states, lived in New Mexico and Indiana, and have traveled to Mexico, Germany, Haiti and Russia. I have an entire bucket list of other places I want to see someday.
I am excited to work here in Hebron and I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone.
