BDS volleyball falls to Pawnee City

The BDS Lady Eagles fell to Pawnee City Tuesday night in the final round of the D1-1 subdistrict contest. Pawnee City won the match in four sets, 25-20, 25-22, 10-25, 25-22. The loss ends the Eagles 2010 season on a 23-7 record.

In the contest, Shelby Garland led the attack with 17 kills and three ace serves. Makaleigh Yantzie added ten kills for the offense. Erika Schroeder led the defense with 25 digs and seven ace blocks, while Garland added 22 digs. Ashley Hinrichs had 18 assists and Whitney Walters had ten.

The newly formed BDS Eagles, under the tutelage of long-time coach Dan Sorge, will lose five seniors to graduation including Zoey Messman, Erika Schroeder, Kaitlyn Krupicka, Caressa Reinsch, and Makenna Coy.
