Game and Parks Accepting Donated Hunting Gear
LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is accepting donations of new or used hunting clothing and gear to be used in the mentored youth hunting program.
Each year hundreds of youth, many of them first-time hunters, take part in the mentored hunts across Nebraska. However, many of them don’t have access to the appropriate clothing and gear. Game and Parks seeks camouflaged and blaze orange hunting gear to be loaned out to those participants.
Items that Game and Parks will accept include, but are not limited to: insulated bibs, parkas/insulated coats, hooded sweatshirts, insulated boots, shooting sticks, game calls, gloves, facemasks, and new wool socks.
Game and Parks cannot accept tree stands, safety harnesses/fall arrest systems, firearms and ammunition.
Acceptance of donated items is subject to need as determined by Game and Parks. Donated items should be clean and in good, working condition.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., through Jan. 10, at the following Game and Parks offices: Kearney, 1617 First Ave., 308-865-5310; Lincoln, 2200 N. 33rd St., 402-471-6144; North Platte, 301 E. State Farm Road, 308-535-8025.
