Hebron man arrested in domestic disturbance

Matthew E. Meyer, 27, of Hebron, was arrested Monday, June 16, and charged with four felonies after turning himself in to the local law enforcement center in Hebron.

According to the arrest affidavit kept on file at the Thayer County courthouse, Meyer and his wife were fighting at their home in Hebron about the family pet, a miniature Doberman Pinscher, when Meyer produced a .380 caliber pistol and shot the animal several times. He then left the residence.

The affidavit filed by Thayer County Sheriff David Lee said one of the fired rounds went through the floor to a basement room and landed approximately three feet from a child playing video games.
