Midwest Bank, Reinke commit to $100,000 in challenge grant

Midwest Bank and Reinke Manufacturing of Deshler have announced a $100,000 matching challenge grant donation to Spring Creek Kids, Inc., Childcare Center. Both companies have committed to donating $50,000 each once an additional $100,000 has been raised by the nonprofit.

“Midwest Bank is proud to support Spring Creek Kids, Inc., with this matching challenge grant donation,” Rebecca Stengel, market president for the bank, said. “We’re proud to be a community bank focused on supporting citizens and families that live and work in our region. Along with Reinke Manufacturing, we understand the importance of not only giving back to our community, but in supporting the growth and future of our region.”

“Childcare is vital for many families, and being the largest employer in the area, this donation was important to us to help support quality childcare for our employees with young children,” Reinke President Chris Roth said.

Spring Creek Kids, Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, has had a successful start to fundraising so far, raising $236,000, and seeks additional support to reach its goal. Local and regional businesses, community groups and supportive citizens are encouraged to help the project that will make the childcare center a reality for families in the area.

An existing building has been identified and is currently under renovation for the center. Organizers hope to open the center in May of 2024 for infants to preschool age with a future goal of providing after-school programs for older children.
