Remembering Our Fallen
“Remembering Our Fallen,” an exhibit honoring 98 Nebraskans and western Iowans killed during the “War on Terror” will be on display at the Thayer County hospital later this month. The traveling exhibit is on loan from the Strategic Air & Space Museum near Ashland.
“We can never forget those who sacrificed everything for our freedom,” said Evonne Williams, interim executive director. “We must remember these American heroes and speak their names when we see their family members. This exhibit is created in such a way that it will travel easily throughout Nebraska and western Iowa, focusing on the home towns of the fallen.”
The photo exhibit was unveiled at the Strategic Air & Space Museum on Nov. 14, 2010, and remained on display until Dec. 31. The exhibit has been traveling since the first of the year and is already booked a week at a time through most of 2011.
“Remembering Our Fallen” will be on display in the main lobby of Thayer County Health Services Jan. 29 through Feb. 4, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. An opening ceremony is scheduled the first day at 10 a.m.
“Several veterans, family members and businesses have stepped forward to help sponsor this event,” said TCHS Marketing and Development Director Rita Luongo. If you would like to help sponsor this exhibit, contact her at 402-768-4244 or rluongo@tchsne.org.
The exhibit is open to the public.
