Secrest Library summer reading program off to great start

Secrest Library was abuzz with activity Thursday morning as 51 kids attended the opening day of summer reading.
“Fizz, Boom, Read” will explore scientific research and experimentation in today’s ever-changing world. The summer reading program, coordinated by retired Thayer Central school teacher Anne Baden who oversees 21 junior librarians, will be held Thursday morning from 10-11 a.m., May 29, June 12 and June 19.
Pre-registration is requested and can be made by getting in touch with library staff. There is also a pre-kindergarten summer reading class which will be held Wednesday morning from 10-11 a.m., May 28, June 11 and June 18. There were 34 students in attendance for the first Wednesday class.
