Titans, BDS end seasons in subdistricts – Dragons still in it

The Lady Titans ended their season Tuesday night at the C2-2 subdistrict contest after falling to Sutton in a hard fought battle, 42-47. The game was held at Norris Public Schools. Megan Bulin led the scoring effort with 14 points while Kelsey Long added 10. The Titans went into the half 24-21, but Sutton took over the second half to take the game.

Prior to the second round, the No. 4 seeded Titans defeated No. 5 seeded Tri County, 59-31, Monday night to start off the subdistrict competition. The Titans defeated the Lady Trojans in a second-half effort. After edging out a slight lead in the beginning of the game (22-17 at the half), Thayer Central scored 17-8 in the third quarter and 20-6 in the fourth to run away with the game.

Bridgette Baden led the way with 19 points while Megan Bulin added 17.

In other subdistrict contests, the Bruning-Davenport Lady Eagles fell to Heartland Tuesday night, 35-39, in a hard fought battle that was close throughout.

McKenna Schardt and Jaycie Hoins led the offense with nine points each.

The D1-2 subdistrict game was played at Fillmore Central. BDS ends their season 13-10.

The Deshler Dragons are still in it as they easily defeated Dorchester in the first round of the D2-2 subdistrict contest played at Friend. Seeded No. 1, the Dragons downed No. 4 Dorchester 53-13. Jenscena Hansen led the way with 14 points while Carlee Schardt added 12.

The victory pits Deshler against No. 2 seeded Nebraska Lutheran Thursday night at 7 p.m., in the subdistrict final.
