Train, vehicle collision kills Ohiowa man

A vehicle and train collision early Sunday morning resulted in a fatality in Belvidere.

According to the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on sixth and D Street in Belvidere at 2:34 a.m. on Jan. 26.

Bryant Mussman, 24, of Ohiowa was north bound on D Street in a pick up when he attempted to cross the railroad tracks at the closed crossing.

He became stuck on the railroad tracks and was struck by an east bound Union Pacific Train.
