Come join the fun at the Jefferson County Fair in Fairbury, July 12-15, 2012.
The Richard’s Amusements Carnival will be on the grounds Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Get advance tickets now for a considerable savings at Jefferson County ticket locations.
In the grandstand on Thursday at 7 p.m. is Ingathering 2012, a Christian musical celebration of local talent. This is sponsored by the Jefferson County Ministerial Association. Friday, Elvis Impersonator Do Rose performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday is JayHusker Racing, with a full evening of exciting events beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Firefly is in concert at 7:30 p.m. This concert features three young ladies playing a variety of instruments and singing in various styles of music to suit all ages.
There are four full days of events in the horse arena, beginning Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with wagon driving for single and double harness horses. Ribbons and trophies will be awarded in 10 classes. Friday is Team Penning, and Saturday is Progressive Jack Pot Team Roping, with both beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday at 7 p.m. is a free Fun Horse Show open to all horses and riders. There is no entry fee for the open show, with ribbon awards only.
There will be 4-H and FFA exhibits and activities including Egg Russian Roulette, Mud Tug of War, and Mechanical Bull Riding contest. Amazing Arthur will present shows Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m., and will stroll the grounds both days.
At 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, stage hypnotist Mike Prochnow will be on the dance floor doing a hypnosis show. This will be Mike’s third year performing at the Jefferson County Fair and he is a crowd favorite.
