He-Hi/TC alumni banquet May 26

Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Hebron tornado, “We’re Blown Away” is the theme for the 2013 He-Hi/Thayer Central Alumni Banquet. It is to be held at 6 p.m., on Sunday, May 26. Tours of the school will be available at 5 p.m.

Honor classes this year are those ending in “3” and “8” as well as the 2013 graduating class.

The Alumni committee has been working hard to plan a fun weekend for those who live locally as well as those traveling to Hebron.

A dance will be held Saturday, May 25, at Toad’s in Belvidere from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. A cover charge applies. Toad’s will be closed Sunday, May 26.

Following is a list of the honored classes contact person and some of the plans for the weekend:
1938: No contact person and no reunion planned.
1943: Jim Kenner, 402-768-6624.
1948: No contact person and no reunion planned.
1953: Kathy Mammen 402-768-6826. Class will meet Saturday at 6 p.m., at the Brand X.

1963: Eldon Kassebaum, 402-768-6928. Class will meet at the fire hall at 6 p.m., on Saturday, May 25, for a catered dinner. The cost is payable to Andrea Brown Storz. The class plans to attend the banquet Sunday night and will meet at Eldon’s house after the banquet.

All honor classes are asked to attend the banquet. Dinner will be catered by Ricky’s Cafe from Hanover Kan. There will be entertainment and a video honoring the classes.

Tickets for the banquet are available at Thayer County Bank and True Value Hardware. No tickets will be available for purchase at the banquet. Please get your tickets early so the committee can keep the caterer updated.
