Milo Day, Hebron 150th, Fall Festival all on tap
Milo Day is Saturday in Carleton and the Queen Candidates, and communities they are representing are featured on page 14 this week.
The action starts at 4 p.m., for the candidates as they don evening gowns for the gown competition and participate in an activity with the Milo Princesses.
Then, the candidates will ride in the 6 p.m. parade, after they sing the National Anthem. Following the parade, the candidates will partake in on-stage interviews with the Master of Ceremonies.
Next weekend, Hebron merchants and the 150th committee will go all out to entertain visitors during the third installment of celebrating Hebron’s 150th birthday. A feature story on the celebration will run in next week’s issue.
At the end of the month, set aside time for Belvidere’s Fall Festival Sept. 29. The American Legion Riders and civil war demonstrations, plus over 100 antique items will be on display. A lunch will served at the community center from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
