Ruskin man injured in ATV rollover
Randy Meyer, 56, of Ruskin suffered injuries to his ribs and chest after rolling his ATV Sunday. Reported by passersby Dan Studer and Deonna Edgar, Meyer was eastbound in the south ditch along Highway 136 when his 2013 Arctic Cat 700 started tumbling toward the highway. Studer and Edgar said the ATV with Meyer on it stopped in the middle of 136 on top of him pinning him to the roadway.
Deshler Rescue transported the injured man to Thayer County Health Services where he was life flighted to Lincoln with his injuries.
The accident occurred at 6:43 p.m. less than a mile from Meyer’s home.
Thayer County deputy Kent Kriesel said he spoke with Meyer before he was flighted out, and Meyer, who was conscious, said he didn’t remember much, but thought he may have caught one of the vehicle’s tires on the lip of the highway’s pavement causing him to lose control.
