Veteran Support Program Begins

A new outreach program has been established through Blue Valley Community Action Partnership with the help of AmeriCorps VISTAs.

The goal of the Veteran Support Project is to increase the capacity of BVCA in serving Veterans and their families.

Many Veterans have fallen on hard times and are forgotten in their communities.

The Project plans to provide leadership, direction and ability to obtain, establish, analyze and address needs of Veterans and their families in BVCA’s service area of Butler, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Polk, Saline, Seward, Thayer and York Counties.

A Veteran Leadership Advisory Council (VLAC) is being organized to include Veterans or a Veteran’s family members.

The Council will assist in identifying needs, establishing objectives and mobilizing resources to address those needs in each county.
