Lady Titans advance to state

The Thayer Central Lady Titans swept the C2-3 district final Friday night to earn a berth at the 2012 C2 State Volleyball Tournament. The squad defeated Aquinas Catholic 3-0 in the victory. The state tournament runs Thursday, Nov. 8-10 in Grand Island; Thayer Central (22-7) takes on Hastings St. Cecilia (29-3) at 2 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the Class C-2 tourney at Northwest High School. The two teams have not met this season. The Lady Titans have not been to the state finals since 2010 when they finished third in the Class C-1.
