TC BOE looks for experience

Facility committee seeks people who know construction/design process.

Thayer Central Board of Education could use some help from experienced visionaries who know the process of construction and design of large facilities. Such was their plea to a group of 18 individuals who shared ideas last Wednesday, July 9, about the next phase in making Thayer Central a safe and secure school.

“It will be a subcommittee of six or eight people to meet with our facilities committee,” said board member Curt Mumm Monday night at the regular school board meeting. “We do have interested people who would like to serve on the subcommittee, they signed up last Wednesday, but we want  to hear from anyone else who might be interested.”

According to TC superintendent Drew Harris, the subcommittee will help with design details in a plan decided on last Wednesday night and also when it comes time to start talks with contractors. Phase one of the plan which includes priority improvements for the primary, elementary and high school buildings, is currently estimated to cost between  $3.5 million and $4 million…
